Sage Line 50 to OpenERP 6 Migration ServiceWe offer a full nominal data migration service of Sage Line 50 to OpenERP v6. This service is based on the ETL concept - Extract, Transform and Load. Our model puts the Sage data through a series of over 700 complex transformational steps to deliver an exact copy from the old file based 15 years old Sage database to a cutting edge industrial grade database system - PostgreSQL that OpenERP is using.

Below is the list of data that this service covers:

  • Company with currencies
  • Nominal Codes and COA
  • VAT codes
  • Debtors and Creditors with their Sage payments-invoices allocation.
  • All nominal activity account entries - yes that is every single line!
  • Departments with the historical entries. This will be migrated into OpenERP Analytical Accounts.
  • Products
  • Bank reconciliations
  • VAT returns (only with our VAT reconciliation module)

Stock movements, CRM entries, project, and any other custom data is not included - please enquire for a quotation.


How to get this?

Step 1 - You email us your nominal codes export from sage in csv format. We ETL that indo a custom OpenERP chart of accounts module, which will allow you/us to create a new company in your OpenERP database using the exact code structure as you had in Sage.

Step 2 - We connect remotely to your PC and extract the Sage Line 50 data in the format we require.

Step 3 - We load the data on our development OpenERP server and give you access to inspect it all/validate the integrity of the migration.

Step 4 - Once you are happy that the data is 100% accurate, we then migrate it to your live server and you can say good bye to Sage.

Note: Unfortunately Sage Line 50 database is not recording any Journal Groups for Journal Entries as modern accounting systems do and as such we group these based on our own algorithm which will need your own review and corrections as required. Additionally, Sage Line 50 has known bugs that would post a Journal into 2 different periods - JC in one month and JD in a different month. We automatically pick up these errors and group them as draft entries, where you can correct and re-validate.
